[WEL]COMING OUT DAY event at Beiersdorf

Not even four months have passed since WELCOMING OUT launched – and yet, we’ve already achieved so much in that short time. It was time to take stock together with our now 27 PATRONS and to look ahead to 2023.
The gathering took place in the beautiful auditorium of our PATRON Beiersdorf, with a welcome speech by CEO Vincent Warnery. What a powerful sign of support – we’re incredibly grateful!

The evening was hosted by Kathrin Eßmann, with live music by Josie Paulus. A WELCOMING OUT special edition of coffee and mugs came courtesy of elbstolz, and the event was beautifully captured by Miriam Wagner – a huge thank-you to everyone involved!

What was it all about?
The accompanying WELCOMING OUT campaign is entering its third phase for this year’s Coming Out Day on October 11. By the end of the campaign, according to Ströer, it will have generated 25 million contacts in Hamburg alone. The alliance of PATRONS has grown by six new organizations so far, with many more lined up to join.

Several PATRONS shared additional initiatives they’ve launched around WELCOMING OUT: podcasts, stadium shows, merchandise special editions, perimeter advertising and more – a lot is already in motion, and much more is to come!

Our Managing Directors Vanessa Lamm and Markus Hoppe also shared their plans for what lies ahead:
more reach and awareness through testimonials and influencers, a joint PATRONS truck for the next Hamburg CSD, more pickup locations for free buttons, expanded digital coming-out options, and team growth funded by increased support.

We’re just getting started – and we’re confident that with the incredible support of our PATRONS and many more allies, we can keep growing this movement together.
