WELCOMING OUT at the Köhlbrand Bridge Run

On German Unity Day, the 12th Köhlbrand Bridge Run took place in Hamburg – a 12.3 km course across the iconic bridge and back. WELCOMING OUT was there with both a booth and a running team, making a visible and active statement for the acceptance of queer diversity – both along the route and within the running field.
Thanks to the energetic support of the adidas Runners Hamburg, we were able to enter the 3 PM race with a seven-person team – and secured an incredible 2nd place in the team ranking. A huge thank-you to the adidas Runners Hamburg and all the other runners who joined us!
Throughout the day’s three races, we hosted an info booth in collaboration with our PATRON elbstolz, informing people about our initiative, sharing merch, and offering our LGBTIQ+DU sign for selfies. A big shoutout to elbstolz for leading the organization and supporting us on-site.
It was a successful day all around – and certainly not the last run in Hamburg where WELCOMING OUT will show up loud and proud.
